The shapes of the crystals (see picture for example) are tuned by the reactant concentration. The morphogenesis follows a nonclassical mechanism. A rhombohedral primitive minimal surface was observed for the first time in a synthetic crystallization of micrometer-sized particles.</dcterms:abstract> <dcterms:issued>2009-01-02</dcterms:issued> <dc:creator>Xu, An-Wu</dc:creator> <dc:date rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2017-09-20T09:28:14Z</dc:date> <dcterms:title>Calcite Crystals with Platonic Shapes and Minimal Surfaces</dcterms:title> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> <dspace:isPartOfCollection rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/29"/> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
