Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction in the Alps (AlpCHI2026) Demo Track

Abstract

AlpCHI is the inaugural Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) conference of the Alpine region. Designed as an annual or biennial event, AlpCHI provides a regional forum that is accessible, community-driven, and fosters collaboration, aiming to bring together researchers, industry professionals, and academics to exchange ideas and explore new developments in HCI. The first edition of AlpCHI 2026 took place at the Congressi Stefano Franscini (CSF) by ETH Zürich between Sunday, March 1st, 2026, to Thursday, March 5th, 2026, on Monte Verità in Ascona, Switzerland. The philosophy of AlpCHI, is that HCI should be experienced, not only described. The AlpCHI Demo Track offers a unique opportunity to showcase prototypes, installations, systems, and artistic explorations that embody resilience, mindfulness, sustainability, and human connection with people and places.
