dc.description.abstractThe prediction of higher empathy for children whose mothers were generally more empathetic and in interaction with their children was confirmed for 15 boys and 15 girls, 5 to 6 years old, and their mothers. Teachers' ratings of children correlated significantly with several maternal variables: with empathy, frequency of mothers' articulation of prosocial goals and understanding of the child.deu
