Electronic Commerce - Elektronische Bestellsysteme im Internet. Realisierung eines datenbankgestützten Produktbestellsystems im World Wide Web mit einem Merchant Server

Abstract

Electronic Commerce is expected to be a multimillion dollar business and to hit about $4.8 billion in `98. In the field of electronic order systems and electronic product catalogues the use of integrated Electronic Commerce solutions, which are called Merchant Server Systems, is growing. This paper shows the related fields of electronic order systems: the relationship of these systems to the Electronic Markets and to the Electronic Commerce, gives legal aspects for merchants, shows applied encryption and electronic payment systems. Further it pays special attention to both definition and category of electronic order systems and its crucials quality aspects for customers, merchants and developer. With that given theoretical background we´ll focus the main goal of this project: the establishment of an electronic order system for a store of domestic article. For this challenge the Microsoft Commerce Server 2.0 is used. Within this part the introduction of the Commerce Server is given and the necessary infrastructure is shown. Finally the established store is presented for every level with two points of view. The first point takes attention to the interface between the customer and the online store. The second point shows the technical side of the elaborated online store with an abundant explanation of the used components and scripts.
