Zusammenfassung
The optical generation and detection of high-frequency ultrasound by employing ultrashort laser pulses enables the measurement of characteristic material parameters. A high-speed pump-probe system based on two synchronised Ti:Sapphire lasers is used to determine the thickness of multilayer films with sub-nm depth resolution at kHz scan rates. Due to a fibre-coupled delivery, the measurement system can also be applied in harsh environments and to the inspection of large and complex samples.
