| dc.description.abstract | The dissertation deals with the protection of the privacy against press intrusions by the self-control of the press in England and Germany. The first part gives an overview of the protection by the law in both countries. The second part describes the different systems of the self-control of the press and examines the adjudications concerning the protection of privacy. Advantages and disadvantages of the system of self-control of the press in relation to the protection by the civil law than become obvious. Finally alternative tasks especially for the German Press Council are discussed. | eng |

| kops.description.abstract | Die Dissertation untersucht rechtvergleichend den Schutz der Privatsphäre vor Presseveröffentlichungen durch die freiwillige Presseselbstkontrolle in Deutschland und England. Der durch die freiwillige Presseselbstkontrolle vermittelte Schutz der Privatsphäre wird in Beziehung zum zivilrechtlichen Rechtsschutz derselben gesetzt. Durch eine detaillierte Analyse der Spruchpraxen werden Stärken und Schwächen der freiwilligen Selbstkontrolle gegenüber dem durch das ordentliche Recht vermittelten Schutz der Privatsphäre offengelegt. Schließlich werden alternative Tätigkeitsbereiche für die freiwillige Presseselbstkontrolle erarbeitet. | deu |
