dc.description.abstractMesocrystals are a fascinating class of crystalline nanostructured materials since they combine the properties of nanoparticles with order on the microscopic or even macroscopic length scale. This tutorial review deals with the structural aspects of mesocrystals as well as their formation mechanisms known so far. The goal is to reach an understanding about what is special about the structuration principles of mesocrystals and their complex structures and what are the possibilities to control their formation processes.eng
