dc.description.abstractInternet ha revolucionado la investigación cientí ca, especialmente las ciencias sociales y del comportamiento. Ejemplos como la investigación sobre inmigración muestran un salto cualitativo en cuanto a las nuevas cuestiones que pueden ser exploradas. Investigadores, editores y otros actores de la comunidad cientí- ca demuestran un elevado interés y un gran entusiasmo por los métodos de investigación basados en internet. Sin embargo, hay un número de desafíos que los investigadores online deben considerar. El presente artículo debate algunas de las peculiaridades y oportunidades de la investigación en internet ,explica las ‘buenas prácticas’ que han emergido, hace visibles algunos de los cambios experimentados por la investigación durante los últimos 20 años y describe nuevas fronteras, como la investigación en y con Big Data (grandes datos).spa

kops.description.abstractThe Internet has created a revolution in scientific research, especially in the socialand behavioral sciences. Examples like research on migration show a qualitative jump and new questions that can be explored. Researchers, editors, and other players in the scientific community have shown and continue to show high interest in and great enthusiasm for Internet-based research methods. However, there are a number challenges that online researchers must consider. The present article discusses some of the peculiarities and chances of Internet-based research and it describes best practices that have emerged. Some of the changes research underwent over the last twenty years become visible and new frontiers, like research on and with Big Data, are described.eng
