The extension of mode-coupling theory (MCT) to sheared systems is one of the major extensions of the theoretical framework during recent years.<br />Previous results of this novel approach were restricted to analyses with schematic mode-coupling models or were performed within a simplified isotropic microscopic model, which distributed the advection of the wavevectors equally over their Cartesian coordinates. It is the aim of this work to consider the situation more rigorously, though only in two dimensions, and to account explicitly for the anisotropy of the mode-coupling equations.
