In order to develop alternative methods the profound knowledge of the transport properties of structures on the scale of nanometers is getting increasingly important. In this context the question how the electric conductance of atomic or molecular devices depends on the exact spatial geometry of the system is of special interest. Therefore clusters of 4 or 7 Silicon atoms respectively shall be examined by means of mechanically controllable break junctions. The geometric structure of these clusters is supposed to be quite well known so experimental results could be compared to theoretical calculations as soon as both is available.</dcterms:abstract> <dc:contributor>Grebing, Jochen</dc:contributor> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
