However, accumulating sequence data and the use of more sophisticated tree construction methods now seem to suggest that microsporidia share a common origin with fungi and are therefore most probably just curious fungi. In this paper, we describe the current views on the phylogenetic position of the microsporidia and present additional evidence for a close relationship between fungi and microsporidia on the basis of reanalysed ribosomal RNA data. In this respect, the importance of incorporating detailed knowledge of the substitution pattern of sequences into phylogenetic methods is discussed.</dcterms:abstract> <dcterms:available rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2011-03-24T17:36:04Z</dcterms:available> <dcterms:bibliographicCitation>First publ. in: Gene 246 (2000), pp. 1 8</dcterms:bibliographicCitation> <dc:contributor>Meyer, Axel</dc:contributor> <dcterms:hasPart rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/7649/1/Microsporidia_accumulating_molecular_evidence.pdf"/> <dc:creator>Peer, Yves van de</dc:creator> <dspace:isPartOfCollection rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/28"/> <dc:contributor>Peer, Yves van de</dc:contributor> <dspace:hasBitstream rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/7649/1/Microsporidia_accumulating_molecular_evidence.pdf"/> <dc:rights>deposit-license</dc:rights> <dc:contributor>Ali, Abdelghani Ben</dc:contributor> <dcterms:isPartOf rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/28"/> <foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://localhost:8080/jspui"/> <dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format> <dc:creator>Ali, Abdelghani Ben</dc:creator> <dc:creator>Meyer, Axel</dc:creator> <dcterms:title>Microsporidia : accumulating molecular evidence that a group of amitochondriate and suspectedly primitive eukaryotes are just curious fungi</dcterms:title> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
