We review the proximate mechanisms underlying courtship and mate choice, including neurobiological and psychological factors, as well as our current understanding of the selection forces that influence mate choice evolution. A primary theme of our review is that our understanding of mechanisms and evolution need to be integrated to fully understand how and why animals court and choose mates the way they do.</dcterms:abstract> <dc:creator>Ryan, Michael J.</dc:creator> <dc:contributor>Ryan, Michael J.</dc:contributor> <dcterms:title>Courtship and mate choice</dcterms:title> <bibo:uri rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/handle/123456789/57599"/> <foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://localhost:8080/jspui"/> <void:sparqlEndpoint rdf:resource="http://localhost/fuseki/dspace/sparql"/> <dc:contributor>Jordan, Lyndon A.</dc:contributor> <dc:date rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2022-05-20T11:47:12Z</dc:date> <dc:creator>Jordan, Lyndon A.</dc:creator> <dcterms:issued>2017</dcterms:issued> <dcterms:rights rdf:resource="https://rightsstatements.org/page/InC/1.0/"/> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
