Abstract
Die Bibliothek als eine Sammlung von Büchern braucht Platz. Dagegen wenden sich immer wieder politische und bürokratische Vorstellungen, daß man Bibliotheken doch auch verkleinern könne, indem man sie auf das Notwendige reduziert und alles Seltene an zentrale Speicherbibliotheken abgibt. Heute kommt diese Verlockung in der Gestalt der modernen Datentechnik daher.
