Abstract
This chapter starts by examining previous attempts to internationalize Convict Criminology. The author states that in a prior article, a first glimpse about the possibility of expanding Convict Criminology to Latin American countries was presented. Many challenges were highlighted. However, they do not imply the end of the discussion but an invitation to acknowledge the particular features of the prison population and academia in the region to open the paths toward a Southern Convict Criminology. To do so, the chapter particularly analyzes the experience of the UBAXII program of the Buenos Aires University (UBA), which offers graduate studies and extension activities held by university professors inside prison.
