Through negative reporting about the (mis-)behaviour of civil servants or about public administration as a whole, the media shape stereotypes in the collective mind of the citizens. However, while the ascribed role of mass media reporting is plausible, these effects have not yet been empirically verified. This article summarises the scientific discussion about the relationship between public administration and the mass media. Furthermore, it adds to this discussion by simultaneously examining both media usage and attitudes towards administrative agencies in Germany through a secondary analysis of data spanning nearly 30 years.</dcterms:abstract> <dspace:isPartOfCollection rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/42"/> <void:sparqlEndpoint rdf:resource="http://localhost/fuseki/dspace/sparql"/> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> <dc:contributor>Rölle, Daniel</dc:contributor> <dcterms:available rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2020-02-18T08:11:11Z</dcterms:available> <dcterms:hasPart rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/48676/1/Roelle_2-1shgwf0qocbui5.pdf"/> <dcterms:rights rdf:resource="https://rightsstatements.org/page/InC/1.0/"/> <dspace:hasBitstream rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/48676/1/Roelle_2-1shgwf0qocbui5.pdf"/> <bibo:uri rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/handle/123456789/48676"/> <dc:rights>terms-of-use</dc:rights> <dc:creator>Rölle, Daniel</dc:creator> <dcterms:isPartOf rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/42"/> <foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://localhost:8080/jspui"/> <dcterms:title>Mass media and bureaucracy-bashing : Does the media influence public attitudes towards public administration?</dcterms:title> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
