However, defining such models and their parameters is a difficult task. We propose an inverse modelling approach for stochastic trees that takes polygonal tree models as input and estimates the parameters of a procedural model so that it produces trees similar to the input. Our framework is based on a novel parametric model for tree generation and uses Monte Carlo Markov Chains to find the optimal set of parameters. We demonstrate our approach on a variety of input models obtained from different sources, such as interactive modelling systems, reconstructed scans of real trees and developmental models.</dcterms:abstract> <dc:creator>Stava, Ondrej</dc:creator> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> <dc:contributor>Mech, Radomir</dc:contributor> <dc:contributor>Benes, Bedrich</dc:contributor> <dc:contributor>Chen, Baoquan</dc:contributor> <void:sparqlEndpoint rdf:resource="http://localhost/fuseki/dspace/sparql"/> <dc:rights>terms-of-use</dc:rights> <dspace:hasBitstream rdf:resource=""/> <dspace:isPartOfCollection rdf:resource=""/> <dcterms:title>Inverse Procedural Modelling of Trees</dcterms:title> <dcterms:hasPart rdf:resource=""/> <dcterms:available rdf:datatype="">2014-05-22T12:15:26Z</dcterms:available> <foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://localhost:8080/jspui"/> <dc:creator>Pirk, Sören</dc:creator> <dc:creator>Deussen, Oliver</dc:creator> <dc:creator>Chen, Baoquan</dc:creator> <dc:contributor>Stava, Ondrej</dc:contributor> <dc:contributor>Deussen, Oliver</dc:contributor> <dc:contributor>Kratt, Julian</dc:contributor> <dc:creator>Mech, Radomir</dc:creator> <dc:date rdf:datatype="">2014-05-22T12:15:26Z</dc:date> <dc:creator>Kratt, Julian</dc:creator> <dc:creator>Benes, Bedrich</dc:creator> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
