<rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="" xmlns:bibo="" xmlns:dc="" xmlns:dcterms="" xmlns:xsd="" > <rdf:Description rdf:about=""> <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="eng">We investigate the force-induced diffusive motion of a tracer particle inside a glass-forming suspension when a strong external force is applied to the probe (active nonlinear microrheology). A schematic model of mode-coupling theory introduced recently is extended to describe the transient dynamics of the probe particle, and used to analyze recent molecular-dynamics simulation data. The model describes non-trivial transient displacements of the probe before a steady-state velocity is reached. The external force also induces diffusive motion in the direction perpendicular to its axis. We address the relation between the transverse diffusion coefficient D⊥ and the force-dependent nonlinear friction coefficient ζ. Non-diffusive fluctuations in the direction of the force are seen at long times in the MD simulation, while the model describes cross-over to long-time diffusion.</dcterms:abstract> <dcterms:bibliographicCitation>Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter ; 24 (2012), 46. - 464105</dcterms:bibliographicCitation> <dc:contributor>Voigtmann, Thomas</dc:contributor> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> <dc:creator>Fuchs, Matthias</dc:creator> <dcterms:rights rdf:resource=""/> <dc:contributor>Harrer, Christian J.</dc:contributor> <bibo:uri rdf:resource=""/> <dc:creator>Voigtmann, Thomas</dc:creator> <dc:creator>Winter, D.</dc:creator> <dc:contributor>Horbach, Jürgen</dc:contributor> <dcterms:title>Force-induced diffusion in microrheology</dcterms:title> <dcterms:available rdf:datatype="">2013-12-17T16:01:46Z</dcterms:available> <dc:creator>Horbach, Jürgen</dc:creator> <dcterms:issued>2012-11-21</dcterms:issued> <dc:contributor>Winter, D.</dc:contributor> <dc:rights>deposit-license</dc:rights> <dc:date rdf:datatype="">2013-12-17T16:01:46Z</dc:date> <dc:contributor>Fuchs, Matthias</dc:contributor> <dc:creator>Harrer, Christian J.</dc:creator> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
