Brintzinger, Hans-Herbert Photolysis of (C<sub>5</sub>H<sub>5</sub>)Co(CO)<sub>2</sub> in an aromatic solvent, such as benzene, toluene or s-mesitylene generates the corresponding (C<sub>5</sub>H<sub>5</sub>)Co(arene) and (C<sub>5</sub>H<sub>5</sub>)Co(arene)<sub>2</sub> complexes.
