Brintzinger, Hans-Herbert deposit-license Kravtsov, Evgenii A. eng Reactive intermediates in living olefin polymerization over homogeneous catalysts based on bis[N-(3-tert-butylsalicylidene)-2,3,4,5,6-pentafluoroanilinato]titanium(IV) dichloride (L<sub>2</sub>TiCl<sub>2</sub>) have been studied. Outer sphere ion pairs [L<sub>2</sub>TiMe(S)]<sup>+</sup>[Me-MAO]<sup>-</sup> and [L<sub>2</sub>TiMe(S)]<sup>+</sup>[B(C<sub>6</sub>F<sub>5</sub>)<sub>4</sub>]- (S = solvent molecule), formed by activation of L<sub>2</sub>TiCl2 with MAO or with AlMe<sub>3</sub>/[CPh<sub>3</sub>]<sup>+</sup>[B(C<sub>6</sub>F<sub>5</sub>)<sub>4</sub>]-, and reactions of these ion pairs with ethene to afford chain-propagating species [L<sub>2</sub>TiP]<sup>+</sup>[Me-MAO]- and [L<sub>2</sub>TiP]<sup>+</sup>[B(C<sub>6</sub>F<sub>5</sub>)<sub>4</sub>]<sup>-</sup> (P = growing polymeryl chain) have been characterized by <sup>1</sup>H, <sup>13</sup>C, and <sup>19</sup>F NMR spectroscopy. 2013-06-20T14:52:15Z Brintzinger, Hans-Herbert Bochmann, Manfred Bryliakov, Konstantin P.
