Summary: |
Pentacarbonyltungsten-coordinated selenobenzaldehydes, (CO)5W[Se[double bond, length half m-dash]C(C6H4R-p)H](R = QMe, H, CF3), react with ButS–C[triple bond, length half m-dash]C–SBut by addition of the C[triple bond, length half m-dash]C to the Se[double bond, length half m-dash]C bond to give 2H-selenete complexes; treatment of the selenete complex (R[double bond, length half m-dash]H) with NEt4Br affords the uncoordinated 2H-selenete and a 3,4-dihydro-1,2-diselenine.
