It is known that the brain response to auditory stimuli of schizophrenia patients is more variable than that in healthy controls. The goal of this thesis was to investigate the role of this increased variability in the formation of evoked potentials and localizing it in the brain. It was also investigated if the increased brain response variability in schizophrenia could be normalized by a computer based auditory training program.

Das Ziel dieser Dissertationsschrift war zu untersuchen, in wieweit die Gehirnreaktion auf auditorischen Reize bei Schizophrenen „variabler“ als bei den gesunden Personen ist und ob diese erhöhte Variabilität sich durch ein computer-basiertes Training verbessern lässt.
