By the term grid we refer to two different aspects. On the one hand, this relates to the structured alignment, the layout of objects on a canvas. On the other hand, a grid can also be indicated visually by inserting lines that form an array which divides a canvas into smaller fields. In both cases we detected a strong positive influence on spatial memory. On content memory, however, grids have a less beneficial influence. Only if grid lines are visible, the structured alignment has a positive effect. On the other hand, the visibility of grid lines always leads to worse results in content memory performance, independent of the spatial arrangement.</dcterms:abstract> <dspace:hasBitstream rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/18648/1/Leifert_influence.pdf"/> <dspace:isPartOfCollection rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/36"/> <dc:contributor>Leifert, Svenja</dc:contributor> <dcterms:title>The influence of grids on spatial and content memory</dcterms:title> <dc:creator>Leifert, Svenja</dc:creator> <bibo:uri rdf:resource="http://kops.uni-konstanz.de/handle/123456789/18648"/> <dcterms:hasPart rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/18648/1/Leifert_influence.pdf"/> <dcterms:bibliographicCitation>First publ. in: Proceedings of the 2011 annual conference extended abstracts on Human factors in computing systems / the 29th Annual CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems : CHI 2011, Vancouver, BC, May 7 - 12, 2011 / general chair: Desney Tan. - New York, NY : ACM, 2011. - S. 941-946. - ISBN 978-1-450-30268-5</dcterms:bibliographicCitation> <dcterms:issued>2011</dcterms:issued> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> <dcterms:available rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2012-03-20T09:45:59Z</dcterms:available> <void:sparqlEndpoint rdf:resource="http://localhost/fuseki/dspace/sparql"/> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
