Abstract

In everyday life, parents and adult children often feel torn in their relationship. The point of departure for a research project is the hypothesis that intergenerational relations require dealing with ambivalences. A series of four working papers informs about the present state of the project. In working paper no. 34.1 the theoretical background of the study and the research design are portrayed. Papers no. 34.2 and no. 34.3 report on first findings. Working paper no. 34.4 contains the questionnaire in German and in English as well as the frequencies.

Im Alltag erfahren Eltern und erwachsene Kinder ihre Beziehungen oft als zwiespältig. Als Ausgangspunkt für ein empirisches Projekt wird deswegen die Hypothese gewählt, dass Generationenbeziehungen den Umgang mit Ambivalenzen erfordern. Mit einer ersten Serie von vier Arbeitspapieren wird über den Stand der Arbeiten informiert. Im Arbeitspapier Nr. 34.1 wird der theoretische Hintergrund und die Anlage der Untersuchung dargestellt. In den Heften Nr. 34.2 und Nr. 34.3 werden erste Untersuchungsergebnisse präsentiert, und im Arbeitspapier Nr. 34.4 wird der Fragebogen in einer deutschen und englischen Fassung inklusive der Grundauszählung dokumentiert.
