Whereas at the early stage information is selected by perceptual filters whose selectivity is relatively limited, at the late stage stimuli are selected more efficiently on a categorical basis. Consequently, selectivity is first low but then abruptly increases during the course of stimulus processing. Although intended as a general model of selective attention, in the present study the DSTP model was applied to account for the distributional data of 3 flanker task experiments. The fit of the model to the data was not only rather good but also superior to those of alternative single-stage models with a continuously increasing selectivity. All together, the model provides a comprehensive account of how early and late stages of attention interact in the control of performance.</dcterms:abstract> <dc:date rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2011-03-25T09:25:48Z</dc:date> <dc:contributor>Hübner, Ronald</dc:contributor> <dcterms:issued>2010</dcterms:issued> <dcterms:available rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2011-03-25T09:25:48Z</dcterms:available> <dc:creator>Lehle, Carola</dc:creator> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> <dcterms:hasPart rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/11134/1/Hubneral_10_PR_neugescannt.pdf"/> <dc:creator>Steinhauser, Marco</dc:creator> <void:sparqlEndpoint rdf:resource="http://localhost/fuseki/dspace/sparql"/> <dcterms:isPartOf rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/43"/> <dc:creator>Hübner, Ronald</dc:creator> <dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format> <dspace:isPartOfCollection rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/43"/> <dc:contributor>Steinhauser, Marco</dc:contributor> <dcterms:bibliographicCitation>First publ. in: Psychological Review 117 (2010), 3, pp. 759-784</dcterms:bibliographicCitation> <dc:rights>terms-of-use</dc:rights> <dspace:hasBitstream rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/11134/1/Hubneral_10_PR_neugescannt.pdf"/> <foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://localhost:8080/jspui"/> <dc:contributor>Lehle, Carola</dc:contributor> <dcterms:rights rdf:resource="https://rightsstatements.org/page/InC/1.0/"/> <bibo:uri rdf:resource="http://kops.uni-konstanz.de/handle/123456789/11134"/> <dcterms:title>A dual-stage two-phase model of selective attention</dcterms:title> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
