Participants viewed photographs of four men and rated the pictures on the dimensions pleasure and arousal. The Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM), an affective rating systems devised by Lang (1980) was used. Participants also were asked to rank pictures according to general preference. Fictional biographical information about the four men was presented. The information gradually characterised the persons as pleasant or unpleasant. After a retention interval of 18 minutes, pictures were rated again and the fictional biographical information was presented once more. The ratings were assessed again after another interval of 130 minutes. The patients did not recognise the faces in a recognition test after the retention intervals, but ratings on the dimensions valence and arousal changed as well as their preferences for the faces. However, the change of the patients ratings was less extreme than that of the control group on the dimension valence and on the preference rating. The results suggest that nondeclarative emotional memory is relatively preserved in Alzheimer s disease.</dcterms:abstract> <foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://localhost:8080/jspui"/> <dspace:hasBitstream rdf:resource=""/> <dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format> <dc:date rdf:datatype="">2011-03-25T09:24:21Z</dc:date> <dcterms:rights rdf:resource=""/> <dc:rights>terms-of-use</dc:rights> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
