Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2D) is a powerful and efficient separation technique that enables protein studies from biological material. Fourier transform-ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS) provides high mass resolution, mass accuracy and sensitivity, and thus is an excellent tool for protein structure identification.
