Zusammenfassung
In the present study the influence of traumatic stresson the processing of emotional stimuli was exam-ined using a visual steady state MEG paradigmwith flickering pictures of varying affective valence.28 torture victims with Posttraumatic Stress Dis-order (PTSD) and 38 matched subjects withoutPTSD (subdivided into a traumatized and a non-traumatized group) were compared. A minimumnorm estimation (MNE) technique was used forsource localization. The enhanced processing ofunpleasant arousing stimuli in visual and parietalregions in PTSD patients will be discussed in theframework of present theories about elaborationand memory representation of threatening cues inPTSD. The study was supported by DFG andEuropean Refugee Fund.
