Zusammenfassung in einer weiteren Sprache

The article aims at sketching out the contours of a research agenda that addresses the overarching research question of how welfare states respond to the new challenges of the digital revolution. The focus is on the re-configuration of both the policy space (how do welfare policies change in the context of the digital revolution), and the political space (how does the politics of the welfare state change). The article proposes a multi-level perspective, combining research of individuallevel attitudes and preferences with studies of the collective level of decisionmaking at the national or local level. This multi-level perspective is helpful to fully understand the complex interaction and feedback effects between society and the political-administrative system in the new technological context.
