Zusammenfassung
Batteries play a key role in daily life as they allow portability to a broad range of important electronic devices, such as mobile phones and medical equipment. The use of batteries in different devices requires regular checking. In this paper, we provide an optical remote battery evaluation method. The principle is the fast analysis of secondary laser speckle patterns produced by the back scattering of an illuminating laser beam from a battery. Due to the internal chemical activities of the battery, its response to controlled external vibrations alters and causes different shifting of the secondary speckle pattern. The experiments are conducted for different vibration frequencies, different types of batteries, and different charging states of a battery. The results show a reliable examination and the methodology has the potential to serve as a battery remote evaluation device.
