Zusammenfassung

In an unusual ring enlargement reaction the heterocyclic ligand in a pentacarbonyl(pyrazolidene) chromium complex is transformed in high yield into the corresponding tetrahydropyrimidinylidene ligands by a deprotonation/protonation (or eprotonation/alkylation) sequence.
