Zusammenfassung
Modes of Narrative gathers articles − written by scholars from the US, Canada, Germany, Britain, France, and Austria − on various approaches to anglophone literatures, such as perspectives on intertextuality, narrative technique, character portrayal, indeterminacy, and polyphony. The primary texts under discussion range from canonical works such as Ulysses and Robinson Crusoe to texts from a more recent (and frequently postcolonial) background by authors such as Alice Munro, Malcolm Lowry, Maria Campbell, and Bret Easton Ellis. The volume thus provides not only an international, but also an interdisciplinary scope, uniting analyses of texts from different national literatures and the disciplines of British, American, and Canadian Studies.
