Zusammenfassung
The chapter examines translingual literature written by authors who switched from German, their first language, into Russian and vice versa. Offering a historical overview that ranges back to the mid-18th century, it focuses on contemporary Russian-German literature, on works written by immigrants from the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia to Germany and Austria since the 1990s. After placing Russian-German literature in a larger context of other recent translingual and transcultural German literatures, the chapter discusses its central topics, genres, linguistic, and narrative strategies, as well as the different audiences it addresses.
