Aim of the study was to investigate (a) how parents and preschool teachers perceive family-parent-partnerships (FPP), (b) how preschool quality relates to FPP and (c) if parents’ educational beliefs impact the perceived importance of and intention to engage in partnership. We expected discrepancies between the evaluation of the quality of FPP between immigrant parents and preschool teachers on the one hand, and between immigrant and non-immigrant parents on the other. We hypothesized preschool quality to predict the quality of the partnership, and educational beliefs to predict perceived importance and intention to engage in partnership. Hypotheses were only partially confirmed. Findings are discussed with reference to research showing that partnership and family involvement have positive effects on children’s development.
