Analyses of developments in the organizational properties of sectoral trade associations that tries to assess whether changes in these properties are triggered off by the processes of political and economic internationalization and as well as technological changes and changes within society. Internationalization, in this view, has direct consequences on domestic institutions, which are, in turn, supposed to influence trade associations. The institutional setting will be discussed to allow predictions on the internal structure of Business Associations and furthermore on the external relations to other Associations. The latter, by examine the associations information linkages to none-associations Ministries and Committees.
Zusammenfassung in einer weiteren Sprache
Ziel dieser Arbeit soll sein, organisatorischen Wandel von Unternehmensverbänden im ICT Sektor in Japan zu analysieren. Unter organisatorischem Wandel versteht man die strukturelle Anpassung von Verbänden auf eine sich verändernde Umwelt. Sichtbar wird diese Veränderung im organisatorischen Aufbau von einzelnen Unternehmensverbänden (Mikroebene), aber auch in der Komposition der Population (Mesoebene) im zu untersuchenden Sektor. Das bedeutet, Veränderungen werden auf verschiedenen Ebenen beobachtet, sowohl auf der individuellen Organisationsebene, als auch auf der Sektorebene. Im Besonderen werden personelle Verflechtungen der Verbände mit Unternehmen und dem Staat erläutert.
Die Verbandsumwelt wird analytisch in vier Dimensionen unterteilt, die technische, ökonomische, politische und gesellschaftliche und im Zeitraum 1980 bis 2002 untersucht. Diese unabhängigen Variablen verändern die Ausprägung der abhängigen Variable organisationaler Wandel. Wandel gliedert sich in vier Dimensionen auf: Veränderung der Verbandsdomäne, der Organisationsstruktur, der Mittelverwendung bzw. Herkunft und des Verbandsoutputs.
Abgeleitet aus dem Ansatz des historischen Institutionalismus und institutionalistischen Ansätzen aus der Organisationssoziologie werden Fragestellungen generiert, die mit Hilfe empirischer Daten überprüft werden. Zum einen quantitativ, mittels einer Netzwerkanalyse, zum anderen qualitativ anhand der gesammelten Daten aus Interviews. Die historische Genese der Verbandsstruktur in Japan wird ausführlich dargestellt. Ergebnis der Untersuchung ist zum einen, dass das postulierte Dilemma der Verbände zwischen effektiver Einflussnahme und legitimitätssichernder Mitgliederintegration, aufgrund der engen personellen Verflechtung in Japan aufgelöst wird. Zum anderen, dass aufgrund der vorherrschenden Pfadabhängigkeiten organisationaler Wandel sich nur auf der Populationsebene (inter-organisationell) vollzogen hat.
