This research aims to situate Klossowski's thought in relation to contemporary contexts of media thought (media philosophy, ecotechnics, media archaeology, cultural techniques), and their relationships with structuralist, post-structuralist and cybernetic traditions. . In this sense, it sheds light on dynamics specific to the history of knowledge in a French, German and American context, with a view to updating a thought that is still largely unpublished. By doing so, this research aims to update a set of concepts and notions resulting from the theoretical work of Pierre Klossowski. Protean author and particularly influential on the generation, more visible, who followed in his tracks (Deleuze & Guattari, Foucault), Klossowski's works are likely to prove useful our understanding of the events of our times. Whether it is the cryptic lineaments of an economy of affects (The Living Currency, 1970), or an ontology of simulacra, many elements of this thesis lend themselves to a mediological reading applied to different regimes and apparatus of contemporary subjectivations. Through a theoretical translation, this research aims to bring Klossowski into a dialogue with the fields of media studies, aesthetics and the philosophy of media. To this end, various authors will be mentioned to circumscribe the originality and contributions of Klossowski's work to contemporary reflection. In the conceptual network of media theory and philosophy, which has given pride of place, since its beginnings, to those close to Klossowski, namely Foucault and Deleuze, there is indeed reason to identify an alternative line which is that of Klossowski's thought. The challenge is to add a significant interlocutor to these international discussions in Germany since the 1980s, and today throughout the world, feeds on the said French postmodern thought. In other words, in view of the importance of these postmodern philosophers in contemporary theoretical discussions on media and communication , the challenge is, by adding Klossowski, to expand and modulate a conceptual framework under development. If the idea is in a way to "go back to the source" through the contributions of such an important author for authors who are themselves very influential, our work is as much that of a genealogy as that of an update. The genealogy is also the one that leads to an interdisciplinary field common to the so-called French post-structuralists and to media theory, that of American cybernetics, born around the work of Claude Shannon and Norbert Wiener, and the Macy conferences from the 1940s. Given the significant literature devoted to the links between cybernetics and the German and French theoretical areas, our claim is not to call into play the main lines of the history of knowledge in the 20th century between the USA, France, and Germany. On the other hand, through the description of a Klossowskian line within these different contexts, our project is to shed new light on different levels. This new light also comes from the scope of unpublished texts which have been excluded from The Living Currency. Given the cryptic language that structures Klossowski's last important book, taking a look at the several extensions shown by the manuscripts is a useful key to cope with this strange piece of theory. A first observation about the unpublished texts shows us a larger project than the dense and short essay that has initially been published. We see for instance numerous extensions pertaining to anthropological or socio-economical matters. From the perspective of media aesthetics, borrowing as much from a libidinal economy as from a techno-aesthetic (Simondon), or a sharing of the sensitive (Rancière), we will seek to to outline the features of new dynamics at work in the conditioning of our receptivity and our affectivity. Albeit the theoretical points pertaining to our research may appear in an unequal distribution within Klossowski's work (essays, commentaries, fictions), it is in part explained by our need for a conceptual framework instrumental to an actualization. This conceptual framework will thus be applied to different apparatus generally related to the aforementioned new media, and will therefore tend towards an aesthetic which we will call processual. A so-called processual aesthetic will have to take into account both the dynamics at work in the current systems of production-consumption of images (by said prosumers), and of the processor, that is, the material substrate of the digital media. There is therefore a psychological and social dimension associated with a media-technical factor. Klossowski's numerous and scattered developments on the notion of simulacrum are linked to a reflection on forms of subjectivation, which in this work appeal as much to data from psychology as to considerations of a socio-economic order. It would as such be appropriate, and this is the main point of our thesis, to connect what can be called Klossowskian thought on a contemporary research field, taking as its object the apparatus and systems producing subjectivity, and we shall do such in the perspective of a processual and/or media aesthetics.
