Multimethod measurement plays a crucial role in psychology to analyze the convergent and discriminant validity, estimate the degree of method specificity, and scrutinize the generalizability of results of empirical studies and assessment procedures across methods. The implications of multimethod approaches for test validation, multimethod measurement, indication, and evaluation in psychotherapy research are discussed. Moreover, an overview of modern methodological approaches of multitrait-multimethod analysis for cross-sectional and longitudinal data is given. In particular, basic principles of confirmatory factor analysis models for interchangeable and structurally different methods are explained.
Zusammenfassung in einer weiteren Sprache
Die Messung mehrerer Erhebungsmethoden spielt eine entscheidende Rolle in der Psychologie, um die konvergente und diskriminante Validität zu untersuchen, den Grad der Genauigkeit der Methoden zu schätzen und die Generalisierbarkeit der Ergebnisse empirischer Studien sowie der Erhebungsansätze über verschiedene Methoden hinweg, genau zu überprüfen. Die Auswirkungen der Multimethod-Ansätze für die Testvalidierung, die Messung mehrerer Erhebungsmethoden, sowie Anhaltspunkte und Beurteilungen in der Psychotherapieforschung werden diskutiert. Darüber hinaus wird ein Überblick der fortschrittlichen methodologischen Ansätze von Multitrait-Multimethod-Analysen für quer- und längsschnittliche Daten gegeben. Im Besonderen, werden Grundprinzipien der konfirmatorischen Faktoranalyse für untereinander austauschbare und strukturell verschiedene Methoden erklärt.
