Zusammenfassung

Trapping of positive and negative ions at the interface of 3He-4He mixtures has been studied. Due to the critical behavior the transmission of ions through the interface increases sharply as the tricritical points is approached. The trapping times for both types of ions vary by three orders of magnitude within temperature intervals of only 20 mK, and also depend strongly on the applied electric holding field.
