Zusammenfassung

A safe and convenient method for the copper(II)-catalyzed diazo transfer from triflyl azide to primary amines is reported.
By replacing CH2Cl2 by toluene the formation of hazardous side products, for example, azido-chloromethane and diazidomethane can be avoided.
