Abstract

Vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit den Aufgaben von Bibliotheken und Bibliotheksverbünden im Bereich elektronischer Publikationen. Im Mittelpunkt der Darstellung stehen hierbei Hochschulpublikationen wie Dissertationen, Forschungsberichte u.ä. In einem einführenden Teil werden diese Aufgaben beschrieben, unter besonderer Berücksichtigung von technischen, organisatorischen sowie rechtlichen Aspekten. Im Anschluß folgt eine analytische Beschreibung von drei Projekten an Universitätsbibliotheken, die dem Südwestdeutschen Bibliotheksverbund angehören: Chemnitz, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart. Im dritten Teil werden die Aktivitäten und Vorhaben des Bibliotheksservice-Zentrums Baden-Württemberg im Bereich elektronischer Publikationen vorgestellt, insbesondere die Integration der dargestellten Projekte. This paper looks at the various functions of libraries and library unions concerning electronic publications. The main focus is placed on academic publications i.e., dissertations, reports etc. The first part of the paper describes these functions, paying special attention to technical, organizational and legal aspects. The second part contains an analytical description of three projects at universities belonging to the Suedwestdeutscher Bibliotheksverbund (SWB): Chemnitz, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart. The third part of the thesis presents the Bibliotheksservice-Zentrum Baden-Wuerttemberg's activities and future plans regarding electronic publications, with the main focus being placed on the integration of these projects.
