Zusammenfassung

A collection of images and videos collected by motion-triggered camera traps on Jicarón Island in Coiba National Park, Panama, containing sightings of white-faced capuchin monkeys carrying infant howler monkeys. This novel social tradition of interspecies abduction was captured entirely through camera traps, and is described in Goldsborough et al., Current Biology (2025). Researchers' behavioral coding of all sightings is available here https://zenodo.org/records/15006913 and an interactive online supplement showing some of the footage is here https://www.ab.mpg.de/671374/Capuchin-tool-use/interspecies-abduction-tradition
