dc.description.abstractThis Dataset contains data on representatives elected to the lower house of the Imperial Austrian parliament (Abgeordnetenhaus) in 1907 and 1911. It offers 1) data on representatives' individual characteristics (profession, religion, family background) based on Adlgasser's historical biographies; 2) data on their membership in parliamentary clubs, sections, and parliamentary professional associations; 3) data on their voting behaviour in Roll Call Votes taken between 1907 and 1914. Finally, we also publish all necessary code to replicate the analysis in the article "Competing Principals in a Multinational State" (DOI: 10.1111/lsq.70029).
