Open Access Policy of the University of Konstanz

Open Access stands for unrestricted and free access to scientific information on the Internet. The university administration supports the concept of open access and for several years has been calling for the researchers at the University of Konstanz to make their scientific publications available as open access publications pursuant to the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge (German version)

Decision of the Senate and University Executive of the University of Konstanz on 2012-02-22:

"Publications from the University of Konstanz must be freely accessible in terms of open access, unless this is contrary to agreements with publishers or third parties. The University calls upon scientists to make their publications freely accessible after publication on the publication server of the University of Konstanz Online Publication System (KOPS), and supports publication in open access journals.

The University of Konstanz strongly encourages all University members to reserve in publishing contracts a non-exclusive right to electronic publication and archiving of their research results for free use in accordance with the guidelines of the German Research Foundation and other funding institutions."
