Primate specific Alu retrotransposons are well-established genomic markers for the study of phylogenetic and population genetic relationships. We previously reported a computational reconstruction of Papio phylogeny using large-scale whole genome sequence (WGS) analysis of Alu insertion polymorphisms. Recently, high coverage WGS was generated for Theropithecus gelada. The objective of this study was to apply the high-throughput "poly-Detect" method to computationally determine the number of Alu insertion polymorphisms shared by T. gelada and Papio, and vice versa, by each individual Papio species and T. gelada. Secondly, we performed locus-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays on a diverse DNA panel to complement the computational data.</dcterms:abstract> <dc:contributor>Jordan, Vallmer E.</dc:contributor> <dspace:hasBitstream rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/48750/1/Walker_2-n5ohlkrjdes50.pdf"/> <dc:contributor>Beckstrom, Thomas O.</dc:contributor> <dc:date rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2020-02-24T08:58:39Z</dc:date> <dcterms:available rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2020-02-24T08:58:39Z</dcterms:available> <dc:contributor>Roos, Christian</dc:contributor> <dc:contributor>Steely, Cody J.</dc:contributor> <dc:creator>Noll, Angela</dc:creator> <dcterms:title>Alu insertion polymorphisms shared by Papio baboons and Theropithecus gelada reveal an intertwined common ancestry</dcterms:title> <foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://localhost:8080/jspui"/> <void:sparqlEndpoint rdf:resource="http://localhost/fuseki/dspace/sparql"/> <dc:creator>Batzer, Mark A.</dc:creator> <dc:contributor>Kopp, Gisela H.</dc:contributor> <dc:contributor>Noll, Angela</dc:contributor> <dcterms:hasPart rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/bitstream/123456789/48750/1/Walker_2-n5ohlkrjdes50.pdf"/> <dcterms:isPartOf rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/28"/> <bibo:uri rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/handle/123456789/48750"/> <dc:creator>Storer, Jessica M.</dc:creator> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> <dc:creator>Steely, Cody J.</dc:creator> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
