Our estimates indicate that, with current capabilities, a quantum dot with an odd number of electrons can serve as a realization of the Jaynes-Cummings model of quantum electrodynamics in the strong-coupling regime. A quantized flexural mode of the suspended tube plays the role of the optical mode and we identify two distinct two-level subspaces, at small and large magnetic field, which can be used as qubits in this setup. The strong intrinsic spin-mechanical coupling allows for detection, as well as manipulation of the spin qubit, and may yield enhanced performance of nanotubes in sensing applications.</dcterms:abstract> <dc:creator>Struck, Philipp</dc:creator> <dc:creator>Flensberg, Karsten</dc:creator> <dspace:isPartOfCollection rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/41"/> <dc:contributor>Rudner, Mark</dc:contributor> <void:sparqlEndpoint rdf:resource="http://localhost/fuseki/dspace/sparql"/> <dcterms:isPartOf rdf:resource="https://kops.uni-konstanz.de/rdf/resource/123456789/41"/> <dc:creator>Burkard, Guido</dc:creator> <dc:rights>terms-of-use</dc:rights> <dc:contributor>Burkard, Guido</dc:contributor> <dcterms:issued>2011</dcterms:issued> <dc:language>eng</dc:language> <dc:contributor>Struck, Philipp</dc:contributor> <dc:date rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime">2012-05-10T10:14:10Z</dc:date> <dc:contributor>Flensberg, Karsten</dc:contributor> <dc:creator>Pályi, András</dc:creator> <dc:creator>Rudner, Mark</dc:creator> <bibo:uri rdf:resource="http://kops.uni-konstanz.de/handle/123456789/19244"/> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
